Choosing your first nursing position is a big decision. That's why some of our hospital partners offer eligible candidates the opportunity to visit before accepting an offer. Following your Zoom interview, you may have the opportunity to tour the hospital, shadow on the unit, explore the community, and get a better understanding of what your future workplace could be like. For hospitals that offer this visit, hotel accommodation and transportation will be shouldered by the hospital.
The hospital covers your hotel accommodation. You can choose to drive or fly to the site visit, depending on your location.
Meet nurse leaders and members of the unit you'll be working with, ask questions, and learn more about the hospital's culture and expectations.
Spend approximately 2–4 hours shadowing on the unit (or units) where you interviewed. This gives you a firsthand look at the work environment, patient population, team dynamics, and daily workflow, helping you decide whether it's the right fit for you.
Many hospitals provide a relocation specialist or housing team to introduce you to the area, answer your questions, and help you explore the neighbourhood.
If you accept an offer and relocate, many of our hospital partners provide up to 30 days of temporary hotel accommodation while you search for permanent housing.
The site visit lets you see the hospital, meet the people you'll work with, and experience the unit before you decide, so you can feel confident it's the right fit for you.
